Conflict and Culture exists because conflict doesn’t have to divide teams. With the right support, it can clarify values, repair trust, and strengthen culture.

Experience

Hello, I am Meghan A. Gorman

I am the Founder of Conflict & Culture, which I created to help organizations navigate workplace challenges with clarity, fairness, and a focus on restoring trust. Whether leading a workplace investigation or advising on investigation-related policy and compliance matters, I approach the work with a steady hand and a human-centered perspective grounded in both legal insight and real-world HR decision-making.

My career has spanned roles from U.S. Army Judge Advocate to workplace investigator and HR Business Partner across diverse environments, including government, the financial sector, and higher education. I have advised and supported individuals at every level, from rank-and-file employees to university presidents, and have led thousands of employee relations matters with discretion, care, and attention to process integrity.

Earlier in my career, I drafted and implemented a comprehensive workplace investigation policy, investigative templates, and guidelines for a large university, creating a clear, written process and practical tools to help employees, leaders, and HR professionals understand each step of the investigation process. This work reflected a commitment to transparency, procedural fairness, and helping organizations navigate conflict with clarity rather than confusion.

My approach has helped organizations avoid litigation while addressing complex and sensitive issues in ways that reinforce institutional values and accountability.

I am also the Executive Director of The Conflict Lab, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Through The Conflict Lab, I focus on conflict competency work, including cultural assessment, mediation, coaching, and training. This work is designed to help individuals, teams, and organizations better understand conflict, build practical skills, and engage more effectively across difference and tension.

While Conflict & Culture and The Conflict Lab are distinct entities, they are connected by a shared belief that how organizations handle conflict matters. Learn more about The Conflict Lab at www.theconflictlab.com.

Conflict & Culture exists because conflict does not have to divide teams. With the right structure and support, it can clarify values, reinforce fairness, and strengthen workplace culture.

Outside of work, I collaborate with my husband on a high-stakes, high-volume project: raising three young daughters with equal parts diplomacy, humor, and coffee.
